Final Projects Crush My Soul

Not going to be posting new project ideas and details for a while as I have to finish my final projects for school... but I guess I will give you the run down on those projects.

Typography: A Magazine Layout
Lithograph: a 2 color print combining lithography and silkscreen
Silkscreen: Collectors Series 1 of 0! (as described in previous post)
Painting 1: Not sure yet
Design and Visual Thinking- Color: 3 Synestisia Painting... where I will actually dance on the paper to create my paintings

After these are finished, I should be able to get back to updating you on new and cool projects I am working on.

Second Post

So this is my second post, didn't get any real feedback on the first one, but het, might as well keep it going. The weather was getting much better and it was really nice the last 2 days, but to day it is rainy and mucky as hell. Oh well, the sun will hopefully be back out soon. Can't complain about that now though, I have a whole lot of work to get cracking on, and a load of ideas I need to get focused.

Collector's Series 1 of 0!

Collector's Series 1 of 0! is my current project for my silkscreen class. The actual assignment is to create some sort of package using silk screening. For mine I decided to use the idea of limited edition action figure boxes. I have a great love for toys and frequent kidrobot.com frequently to see the new vinyl and limited edition figures that are out. For my project, I decided to use Play-Doh to make my figures. Also being a collector myself, I found that it may be funny and cool to have figures that were numbered 1 of 0 to boost there desire to be collected. It will be a double bonus that the boxes them selves are also limited edition and one of a kind. Look for images of the project to be posted soon.

First Post and Stereotype

Ok guys,

This is my first post here on blogspot... none of this whiny I need a girl bull shit here. I will be using this blog to discuss upcoming ideas for my art projects as well post some of my digital photos as well. I hope to update this often and get you guys hyped for what I am doing. Hope you all read and enjoy, and please, give me feedback on my ideas.

Stereotype

The next project I plan to work on I have dubbed stereotype. The idea came from a conversation I had with my friend about making generalizations based on race. The project itself is going to be a mixed media digital piece utilizing photograph as well as vectorized versions of my sketches, similar to my book "cRazYHeLlMiNDFUck." I will take "mugshots" of people of different nationalities. On top of these mugshots I will overlay the illustrations which will consist of caricatures and comics and random sketches discussing the different stereotypes associated with that nationality. I will use myself for the first piece and showcase the stereotypes swirling around African-Americans. I plan to also do pieces with Indians, Muslims, Italians, Irish, Asians, Jews, and other groups. The piece will be compiled into a book that will also be dubbed "Stereotype."

I will hopefully have some mock-up ideas done in the next couple of weeks which I will share. Let me know what you think.
